BROKEN ARROW – Mustang showed guts. But on Friday, guts just wasn’t enough.

With their backs against the wall, the Broncos fought back, tying the game twice in the second half before falling behind 24-10 with 9:17 remaining. They scored with 4:35 remaining to pull within a score, but after a 22-yard completion from Chandler Garrett (Sr.) to Bobby Brown (Sr.) with just over a minute left, facing 4th-and-52, Mustang’s season came to an end.

Football: Playoff Preview at Broken Arrow

One year ago, Mustang did the unthinkable.

The Broncos knocked off a powerful, east-side opponent on the road, in the playoffs --- defeating Broken Arrow at Tiger Field in the Class 6A-1 quarterfinals.

It’s familiar territory to say the least as Mustang embarks on another quest for the state championship, once again opening the postseason at Broken Arrow tonight at 7:30 p.m.
